I had a limp glan in my throat get hard and swell upl I had a pa at a clinic give me amox-clav 500-125 mb. that whs friday. this is sunday nite and my mouth ,gums are birning and tender. can't wear false teeth gums are to sore. A verty thick spit is building up in my mouth. It s very thick and hard to swallow. hard to swallow water. been existing on scrambled eggs and potato soup. starting to get sick in my stomach. Have neverbeen alergick to any pinicilin products.
It looks like you have an infection in throat that us causing swelling of the lymph glands.
As you are taking Amox-clav, burning and tenderness in mouth and gums can be a side effect of the antibiotic causing Stomatitis.
Difficulty in swallowing is due to swollen and painful gland..
So my suggestion is to continue taking the antibiotic, take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Advil, gargle with specialised mouthwash like Magic mouthwash, do warm saline gargles.
Suck throat lozenges and chew Vitamin C pellet daily.. If still there is no improvement in 4-5 days consult an Emergency room and get evaluated..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
