Hello,
Several mechanisms can cause the lymph nodes to get swelled.
1-Infection (virus, bacteria, fungus, parasites etc.)
2-Cancer: Infiltration with malignant cells (metastases) brought to the node with the lymph flowing from an area of certain types of cancer.
3- Systemic inflammation.
When to seek medical care:
1- If the swelling of the nodes lasts for more than two weeks or you have symptoms such as
weight loss,
night sweats,
fatigue, or fever.
2-If the nodes are hard, fixed to the skin, do not move, or are growing rapidly.
3-If you can feel swelling close to your collarbone or in the lower part of the neck.
4-If the overlying skin is red and inflamed and you suspect an infection.
Note:
1-
Amoxicillin will not work for viral or
fungal infection, rather it will work only for bacterial infection.
2- More over amoxicillin doesn't work more on gram negative bacteria.
3-Check about the resistance of antibiotic so that it might not been shown actions.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
