Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have swollen, painful axillary lymph nodes, and swollen/painful tissue down the armpit side of my left breast (intermittent in severity). My mammogram (both breasts), and ultrasound (Lft breast only) were great . Since there is nothing wrong can I ice the inflamed area?
First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.
Based on the history you have shared, it's good that mammogram was clear still lymph node biopsy with fine needle if not excision is recommended in your case to isolate exact cause of lymph node swelling. Blood work up and blood counts may also be needed with inflammatory markers like ESR.
Meanwhile OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen can be used.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin,
