What Causes Swollen Lymph Nodes By The Neck And Ear?
About 3 days ago I have formed a pimple-like bump on my forehead, red and tender. Within the last 24 hours I have noticed a swollen gland on the right side of my neck under my chin. Today, I noticed a new swollen lymph node (I think) by my ear that is noticeably big. They are slightly tender to touch, but I currently have no other symptoms that go along with these issues.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of swollen lymph nodes by the neck and ear which seems to be due to lymphadenitis of neck lymph node and it could be due to tooth infection in posterior quadrant leading to swelling. Need not to panic about it. I would suggest you to start with proper course of antibiotics such as Azithromycin 250 mg for 3 days for infection to subside. Avoid spicy and rough food. Take diet rich in soft food. Sip on lukewarm water and take throat lozenges. Take anti inflammatory medications. If symptoms keeps on persisting visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. Maintain oral hygiene. Get blood tests done if required.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
