What Causes Swollen Lymph Nodes In Groin Post Thrombosed Hemorrhoid Removal?

I have had a thrombosed hemorroid removed less than two days ago, and now my the lymph nodes in my groin are swollen and tender on one side. I have been told that infection following this procedure is rare. Is there any other explanation for the suddenly inflamed lymph nodes?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
It seems that there might be having some infection at the site of operation producing enlarged tender inguinal lymph nodes.
Infection at this site is not uncommon as passing of stool and poor local hygiene might lead to infection.
You might require one course of antibiotic medicine for 5 days.
Consult your treating doctor and get examined.
Avoid constipation as it might precipitate the infection.
Ok and take care.
