Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughters lymph nodes were swelling greatly in her neck, visibly so. They did a cat scan and said her lymph nodes and salivary glands were swollen at the er, the next the other sides swole up. 4 days later the swelling is beginning to go down, but her stomach is hurting much, this is not too unusual for her/ with the exception of the visibly noticeable swelling. Im baffled.
Thanks for the question. I am Dr Asanghanwa Carlson. We will need more information like the age of your daughter and the presence of any fever, or weight loss and for how long have the swollen lymph nodes persisted. Swollen lymph nodes around the neck region could be due to a throat infection in most cases. It could also be due to some infections like tuberculosis, some tumours or even inflammatory diseases like Sarcoidosis. For any confirmation of any illness, it will require proper examination by a medic and also a biopsy of one of the lymph nodes for proper examination. I advise you take her to her physician for these procedures. Good luck.
