What Causes Swollen Testicles While Suffering From Filariasis?

Hi I have testicle swelling and inflammation for 1 month. I visited a doctor and he suspected it might be filaria. He gave me some medicine but I have doubt whether he is right or not because swelling in testicle is still present and some times they shrink. some times bulge. I can feel something is growing on my right testicle. Sometimes it pains but some times not. Please help me . If I am infected with filariasis how many days can it take to reduce swelling and mild pain in testicle. I have excessive masturbating habbit also and while doing that I have back pain.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Filariasis can affect scrotum and cause massive enlargement of the scrotum. Unfortunately, it is difficult to treat. However, if treatment is started at the initial stage good results can be obtained:

Consult a physician and start on drugs like DEC.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
