Hi, I had a coffee I purchased and at the end I found a 3/4 inch splinter of wood in my cup. I also felt like I had a piece in my throat. This was 9 days ago. Now I feel like that side of my throat is swollen. Will this go away on its own? I m also breastfeeding. Thank you!
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history of supposedly having wood splinter in the coffee and that you might have consumed and got stuck in the throat 9 days ago. This may not be possible as this would have caused you the symptoms very early, within a few days with a septic focus, difficulty in swallowing and so on. The present problems hence may not be related to this. It may be an infection of the throat and you need a course of an antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicines to get well. Also take an opinion of an ENT Surgeon if possible to have an endoscopy, X-ray does not show any splinter hence no need .
