What Causes Swollen Tongue And Mucus Build Up In Throat After A Tonsillectomy?
Just had tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy, my tongue is rather swollen n I feel like I am choking while I'm sleeping as on the fact that my tongue is swollen and I have a massive buildup of mucous and can't seem to clear my throat, is this normal, what do I do? Feel as though if I was not able to breathe through my nose there would be no other way to breath.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain swollen tongue along with mucous build up in throat after Tonsillectomy seems to be due to infection in throat..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can be done..
You can be advised Antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen and warm saline gargles, antiseptic mouthwash gargles and steam inhalation can help..
Hope this helps..
Regards
