What Causes Syncope In A 6 Year Old Child?

What are some reasons that a normally healthy 6 yr old boy would pass out? It was a fairly hot day, but he had breakfast and a beverage. Then was outside for a few hours at an outdoor market and passed out. I know that perhaps dehydration is the first thought, but what could be some other reasons? Also, would it be recommended that he have an exam by a dr.?

Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.
This is not uncommon in kids. If this happended just once then there is no need to be worrie. In kids it may be caused by dehydration, hunger, stress or exposure to sun. However, if this happens agagin or some other symptoms such as diziness, seizures or motoric lesions occur, you should see child neurologist.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.
Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
