Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 26 years-old and have had health issues for the last 3 years. Still no diagnosis, but I just had an MRI yesterday and I'm having a tilt-table test on Monday. I am feeling particularly bad today and my heart feels like its racing. I took my rate and it is 88 at rest. Is that too fast?
If you have palpitations you should get LFT, CBC, Urinalysis, X-Ray, Ecg, Echo done. Get examined by a cardiologist. In the meantime do regular exercise, maintain weight. Avoid oily, spicy, fried food. Do not take red meat, alcohol & stay away from addictions if any.
Syncope occurs when the heart doesn't pump enough blood to the brain or when the blood pressure gets too low. Any developing coronary artery disease may cause palpitations & syncope.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K,
General & Family Physician
