Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Tachycardia In Left Arm In A Cardiac Patient With CHF?
Hello. I am a cardiac patient with CHF with an enjection fraction of 15% - 20% & have a bi-ventricular ICD. I have been experiencing tachycardia for over a week. Today it was so bad that my left hand and forearm started trembling. My voice was a little shaky and my heart rate is 120bpm. If I lay down it stays around 115. Should I seek medical care or just rest?
As per my clinical experience, the persistent raised heart rate, shaky voice and trembling forearm do suggest autonomic instability of some sort. There can be underlying cardiac conduction disorder or ICD malfunction which may be provoking additional insult to myocardium.
It is best recommended to get an EKG with your primary care physician for certainty of ease and management whatever is required.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
