Hi,

Pancreatitis is a very serious condition that is often fatal. There can be secondary infection around the pancreas or in the drainage system from it. BUT there does not have to be any infection for considerable inflammation that can be fatal. Stopping all pancreatic activity and hoping for the best is about all we can do.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
