When I eat foods with salt and some sweets like chocolate chip cookies. The food taste salty and when eating the cookies the they both make my tongue feel tasteless and a little rough. I m not on any medication. Could you please tell me what can cause this?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have tastelessness and salty taste in the tongue which seems to due to improper oral hygiene and acid reflux and particularly silent reflux. I would suggest you to avoid eating late night, eat at least 1 hour before going to bed. Take light walk at least for 15 minutes after every meal. Avoid spicy and heavy meals like very fatty and sugary food. Take antacids like gelusil .
Consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor may order endoscopy and ambulatory acid test to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may also order X-ray of upper digestive system. Doctor may prescribe medicines like ranitidine and omeprazole to to block the acid production.
Hi, From history it seems that you might be having glossitis giving this type of sensation. Take B.complex and folic acid medicine for few days. Keep oral hygiene clean. Keep your tongue clean with using tongue cleaner and remove white substance over the tongue. Ok and take care.
