Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello thanks for asking from HCM

Short term memory loss is some times seen in patients of depression. This is also called as depressive pseudo-demetia. The symptoms like forgetfulness, loss of thoughts, loss of focus are due to depression only. If you are not on any medicines then you should visit your psychiatrist again and start taking treatment. Medicines like SSRIs as fluoxetine, sertraline etc are commonly used anti-depressant drugs. Apart from that medicines like Modafinil will help to improve concentration and day time drowsiness.

Try relaxation exercises and yoga which will help in decreasing depressive symptoms and will improve your mood.

Thanks, hope this helps you.
