What Causes Tenderness And Pain In The Head After An Injury?
I fell on ice and hit the back of my head. No loss of consciousness, dizziness, loss of appetite etc. It is tender to touch and throbs a bit off and on; no swelling. My neck aches a bit. Nurse told me to take tylenol and ipubrophen. How long will it take to heal and not be tender?
It can sometimes take 2 to 6 weeks for healing to occur on injured soft tissue. If the injury is very severe, this can be extended.
In addition to the tylenol and ibuprofen, you should consider adding a muscle relaxant if the pain is still severe. This continued pain may be due to spasm of the muscles and the relaxant would help with this symptom.
I hope this helps
