What Causes Tenderness And Swelling Behind The Ear After An Injury?
My toddler cousin and I were on the swings, when she fell off. I rushed to her aid, and the swing came back and hit the bone behind my ear. The bone is now tender and a bit swollen, but no color change / sign of bruising. There are no other symptoms besides the slight pain and tenderness of the bone. Can you tell me what is wrong?
Hello, Welcom to Healthcaremagic.com. As per your history you had a hit on head behind the ear. The pain is because of inflammation at the area. As there is little connective tissue between scape and bone the swelling becomes prominent even if it is small. My treatment will be like;
°Apply cold ice pack to the swollen area 2-3 times daily. . Take anti inflammatory medication like Ibuprofen . . If you feel dizziness or unconscious please visit immediately to general physician. Hope you will be healthy soon and don't hesitate to write us further . also provide your feed back too. Regards Dr Muzaffar..
