What Causes Tenderness In The Lower Right Abdomen?
I have HPV (had 4 leap procedures done 5 yrs ago), I had 2 c sections, last one was 2 years ago and I had my tubes tied at the same time. My last pap was 2 years ago because I cant afford it. I have tenderness in my lower right abdominal that hurts when I push on it just a tiny bit, its so tender, could this be cancer?

Internal Medicine Specialist, Dr. Malik's Response
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
The probability of cancer is highly unlikely.
Probably you have abdominal adhesion. It is a band of scar tissue that binds abdominal tissue and organs (e.g. small intestine) that are not normally joined together. This is a very common complication after abdominal/pelvic surgery that mostly presents with chronic abdominal pain. The adhesions are diagnosed by laparoscopy and surgery is the only way to treat adhesions which cause severe pain or intestinal obstruction. Changing eating habit or dieting (more liquid meals and less fiber diet) may alleviate the symptoms that you are experiencing. Abdominal adhesions may cause complete intestinal obstruction which is life threatening and requires immediate medical attention. You should contact your doctor any time you have severe abdominal pain, fever, nausea and vomiting, or infrequent bowel movements.
I hope I have answered your question. Please, feel free to ask me more in HCM if there is anything else you need to know.
Thank you, Dr.Malik
