Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi there, I injured my wrist about 3 months ago while shovelling soil over a weekend. Lots of heavy lifting and strain going through my wrist. It is now still tender on the inside of my wrist about 2 inches down my wrist from the base of my palm. It is ok to extend but is painful to compress. I have tried to avoid heavy lifting but find myself lifting things on almost on a daily basis. It aches while immobile. Any ideas?
It may be due to muscle sprain. For pain you can take tablet Acetaminophen. For further assessment you may require X-ray or MRI of wrist joint after orthopedician consultation. Apply Diclofenac gel or ointment locally. Heating pads will also help.
In case of swelling, you may require surgical intervention after surgeon consultation. Restrict your movements.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shyam Kale
