Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have tenderness on the right calf and have a lump, not round but rather oblong about 1 1/2 inches. It is painful to poke but I can run my hand up and down on it. It is quite warm to the touch. Had a round hard one on my left calf a few weeks ago that turned out to be fluid. what should I do?
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. By your history and description, possibility of pulled calf muscle is more likely for your symptoms. But better to rule out internal pathology. So get done doppler study of veins. If doppler is normal then no need to worry much. Avoid excessive weight bearing on that leg. Avoid movements causing pain. Apply warm water pad on affected areas of calf. Take painkiller and muscle relaxant drugs. Wear pressure bandage while walking and standing. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
