Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I woke up two years and three months ago with tenderness on the sole of my foot near the ankle. Three days later I could not even walk. My foot was so inflamed that it ended my career. My ortho diagnosed it at first as inflammation because it was everywhere. Then he narrowed it down to tendonitis. I have had four x-rays that show nothing, four Medrol dose paks, meloxicam, on and on. My ankle was blown up in the beginning and is still swollen. However, I am using Voltaren Gel five times a day and it seems to be helping and it is now my ankle more than anything. What the heck has happened to me?
The symptoms are consistent with conditions like plantar fasciitis. As first-line management, you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief.
If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopaedician and get evaluated. In severe cases, steroid injection to the sole is required.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
