What Causes Tenderness On The Temple After An Injury?
I hit the temple area of the left side of my head on the sharpe corner of my bedside table a couple of nights ago. I am still extremely tender to the touch in that area, as well as feel a dull ache in the area when I am chewing on that side. Is this normal?
Hello, Welcom to Healthcaremagic.com Because of trauma the area must be injured. As there is least soft tissue in temporal region between scalp and bone. The area become more painful because of underlying pressure.
As jaw muscle temporalis is present in that area when it gets contracted you must be feeling pain.
You must take NSAID like Ibuprofen for pain and tenderness also apply ice pack on the same are to reduce inflammation.
If pain become worse or you feel dizziness or unconscious tendency please visit to ER as soon as possible. Hope you will be fine soon and don't hesitate to ask us if further you feel any need. Regards .................
