What Causes Tendon Inflammation From Back Of Neck To The Shoulder?
Yes, thank you! I have burning pain in the tendon from my left side of the back of my neck to my shoulder. I spoke with my internist did multiple xrays to rule out any obvious tumors and said to follow up with PT if persistent. It has been since November and I have no relief. Any ideas?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Pain radiating from neck to shoulder can be due to inflammation of tendon as mentioned by you. Tendinitis or inflammation of tendon is characterized by pain during movement. The other possible causes of pain in shoulder and neck are muscle spasm, muscle strain, muscle sprain etc. A clinical assessment is required to determine the possible cause of pain. I suggest you to consult an orthopedician for clinical assessment, diagnosis and thus management. Tendinitis is managed with rest, pain killers, anti-inflammatory drugs, hot fomentation and physiotherapy.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
