Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m XXXX. I had a sex with a girl of unknown status 10 months ago. After having sex, i witnessed pain in my testicles. Then i feel pain at penis head. After some time i had yellow colored jelly type sperm and knee joint pain. I went to urologist; he asked me to have test of urine and semen. All my reports are fine. He gave me antibiotic to recover but nothing worked. He said i m having non-bacterical chronic prostititus. But i don t think so. What do you recommend? And what more test you prefer? Do you think i m having any std or hiv?
Intercourse with random partner and the symptoms you are having, the testicular pain, pain in the urethra and changes of the sperm might be due to a sexually transmitted infection. Not always the tests can identify the presence of infection so in this case generally we just treat even if infection is not identified in tests but the patient has symptoms that might be due to sexually transmitted infection.
I would recommend you to take Ceftriaxone 250 mg single intramuscular dose, Azithromycine 1 g single oral dose. Your partner/s should be treated and sexual abstinence during treatment and the week after is advisable.
Ultrasound of the testicles might be advisable to rule out other causes of testicular pain like a testicular mass.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
