Greetings! (80, 190lbs, 5 11 , no health problems, no allergies. happy). Ten days ago I had cataract surgery, O.D. According to the doctor, all went well. When the fog cleared, a day later, I found that I had acquired a new blind spot in my vision. Telephone poles had a chunk missing, the heron on the beach had his head detached from his body, sailboats had two-part masts. Phone lines had acquired a kink and a faint double, the island on the horizon was nearly cut in half by a water bulge reaching up from the horizon - I trust, you get the picture. My ophthalmologist put me on eye drops (to prevent infection). He is aware of the problem ( A first in my practice! ) He suggested a damaged macula as the cause, but the macula was examined twice by a specialist weeks before this operation. He didn t find anything to worry about and suggested to see him again in six months. Besides, even age-related macula issues develop slowly, and there was no sign of herons having part of their neck missing before the surgery, none! I have no name for this phenomenon. Should I change doctors (again) and have someone else deal with it? My trust is somewhat shaken. Any ideas would be welcome. Thank you. YYYY@YYYY The new lens was supposed to optimize distant vision. After ten days, there is no sign of it. The outlines of islands 1mi distant are still blurry, the same they were when the fog cleared
