I'm 21 and have family history of breast cancer. My mom was diagnosed at the age of 35 with stage 4 breast cancer. About 6 days ago I noticed my right breast was tender and sore. I didn't really pay any mind to it. Yesterday I really looked at it and under my areola I have a hard lump about the size of a dime and under the lump, (topical) there is redness. And I randomly get a sore/pain. What could this be? I have called my dr and am waiting on a call back but I'm really stressed.
welcome to Health care magic. 1.It is rare to see any breast cancer in this age, it can be just a infection / inflammation in the breast or cyclical cause. 2.Since you have a strong familial history of breast cancer, better evaluate in a proper way. 3.Lymph nodal enlargement is seen both in the inflammations / infections and in the cancers. 4.Visit your doctor when you get a call back, and get an ultrasound scan done for breast for confirmation.
Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health. Anything to ask ? do not hesitate. Thank you.
