Hello, Welcome to HCM, Many causes can be associated with ear lumps. Some are quite negligible while others can be a cause for medical treatment. Most common causes of swelling behind the ears are 1.Swollen Lymph Nodes 2.Sebaceous Cysts 3. Mastoiditis Some of the home remedies help to reduce these lumps. Sebaceous cysts can be treated with applying tea tree oil. Swollen lymph glands behind the ears can be treated by gargling with salt water. Pain with mastoiditis can be treated by pouring a few drops of Garlic oil in the infected ear. If the symptoms persists you may require oral antibiotics and NSAIDs, take these medicines after consulting your doctor. Thank you.
