Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
39 and a half weeks pregnant, dialated 2cm for 3 weeks now, contractions 3 minutes apart, but cervix is not thinning. Went to hospital but sent home because cervix is not thinning but they do not know why. What can cause the cervix not to thin during labor?
Hello, Welcome to healthcare magic. I am Dr Nirav. During labour cervix will start thining as third stage of labor proceeds. - the reason for not thining may be due to insufficient amount of progestin - not proper amount of oxytocin available - get infusion with oxytocin at hospital and have a progress.
Have a better health and nice baby.
