Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was diagnosed with TCC bladder cancer in 2004 and have had 4 procedures to remove small tumors in my bladder over the last 8 years. I just had my 6 month cystoscopy and bladder was clean BUT the urine cytology suggested suspicious for cancer cells. I decided to have a CT scan which came back clean and negative for cancer in kidneys, ureters or bladder, HOWEVER, it showed the lymph nodes around my kidneys to be enlarged. My doctor suggested we should do another CT scan in about a year to keep an eye on it, along with my regular 6 month cysto visits. Should I be concerned about the enlarged lymph nodes around my kidneys and does this suggest a precurser to kidney cancer? What else could be causing the enlargement of the lymph nodes? I m obviously concerned due to my bladder cancer history.

What Causes The Enlargement Of Lymph Nodes?
Hello, As the CT is clean nothing much to worry. You can also consider a CT guided biopsy from the node for confirmation. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr. Shinas Hussain
