What Causes The Feeling Of Bone At The Tooth Extraction Site?
Hi there, I had a back left molar extracted now 8 days ago. I see and can feel bone in the bottom of the extraction site and am in NO pain. Should I be concerned? Will this heal over if bone is seen and felt at the bottom and side of the extraction site?
As per your complain after 8 days of extraction the extraction socket begins healing considerably and even if the healing is going on the bone is not visible even immediately after extraction as the socket after extraction is gently compressed by pulling together the gum flaps present one on the tongue side and other towards the cheek so that the blood clot remains in its place as well as the bone is not left exposed.
But if any portion of the bone is being felt by tongue you should definitely consult your dentist and get evaluated that what you are feeling is exactly bone or any left out piece of tooth as the exposed bone could not heal by itself and needs to properly place the gum flap and suture it to cover the bone..
Hope your query is solved..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
