What Causes The Feeling Of Food Stuck In Throat?

I've had a sore/swollen throat for a few days. Tonight I took a nurofen express liquid casual and it has stuck to the inside of my throat. I've drank warm and cold drinks and been eating bread but can still feel it there. Is it okay to leave and let it dissolve in its own time or do I need to do something about it??? Thanks.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain in case if you had a sore throat and the pill got struck in throat that does not seems to go down should not be left as it is and immediate consultation with an Otolaryngologist or Emergency room should be made as the pill can get aspirated in the respiratory tract leading to complications..
It can also act as foreign body and can lead to inflammation and also bacterial accumulation around it can cause infection..
At times there is also a possibility that any hard thing can injure the throat mucosa while being swallowed and it can give a feeling of something struck in throat even when it is not present..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and if something is present it will be removed manually and if there is inflammation and the pill has passed down then taking anti-inflammatory medicine like Motrin and doing warm saline gargles will relieve..
