What Causes The Inside Of The Vagina To Be White And Hard?

The inside of my vagina is white - not the discharge, but the skin itself, and towards the bottom of the vaginal opening. The labia minora and majora are totally normal, as is the clitoris, but the "entrance" itself is white and kind of hard. Is this normal?
