What Causes The Lowering Of TSH Levels While On Levothyroxine And Have Graves S Disease?
Hi, Dr. Manoranjan. I have graves disease and the last few months my tns levels have been low. In February my levels were 016.08 and I just had labs drawn on Friday and today my results were 0.6.38. I dont understand since im taking mt meds daily (levothytoxin) 100mcg.
if you are taking levothyroxine ,it means you have hypothyroidism. Low level of TSH means the dose is high so you can decrease the dose to 75mcg and repeat investigations after 6 weeks. Note: Graves causes hyperthyroidism (overactivity) but if you are treated you may develop hypothyroidism which needs levothyroxine replacement.
