Hi,
I've gone through your query and I understand quite well you concern
Based on what you referred to me, I'd like to know some other symptoms too in order to define the cause( you only told that you have thick brown vaginal discharges, not if they are accompained with other symptoms for example with a strange foul odour, pain after intercourse, loss of appetite etc)
Not all cases of dark brown vaginal discharge are cause for concern.
There are some reasons that a girl can experience this discharges:
1.Endometrial Bleeding:which occurs when some of the uterine wall was not discharged during the menstrual cycle (old endometrial tissues). It may occur just after the cycle ends or just before the next cycle begins. The blood is brown in colour because it is old.
2.
Pelvic Inflammatory disease happens when there is an infection in the uterus lining, fallopian tubes, cervix, ovaries and the vagina. It is painful and can lead to
pain during intercourse,
abdominal pain and
infertility if left untreated.
3.A dark brown discharge usually is
implantation bleeding, if you get pregnant. The discharge may last as long as three to four days.
4.Ovulation is another reason. When the egg is releasing you can experience a dark brown discharge or spotting. It will last a few days.
5. Sexually transmitted disease: vaginal infections, gonorrhea, clamydia etc can give a rise to the occurrence of dark brown vaginal discharges with burning sensations, pain etc.
6.
Cervical cancer is a disease that is associated with a dark brown discharge. Cervical cancer is spread through the HPV virus (
human papilloma virus.)Other symptoms of cervical cancer can include loss of appetite, weight loss, pelvic pain, fatigue etc.
Risk increases with multiple sexual partners, sexual activities before age 18, or a past history of STDs
So, please consult a gynaecologist in order to define the diagnosis
Wish you good health
