What Causes Thick Growth Of Hair In Chin And Acne?

hello doctor,i'm having a lot of dark thick facial hairs around my chin area. they started appearing last year and within the course of 6 months they became very dense. my skin is getting worse day by day too as acne problem is increasing. what should i do?

Hello, thanks for writing in.
Excess facial hair(hirsutism) and acne signal a hormonal imbalance.
I would suggest you to visit a dermatologist/physician, for a blood test to evaluate your hormonal profile and a pelvic ultrasound to rule out polycystic ovarian disease (I assume you are a female).
Do not worry at all, there are oral and topical medicines available which will control the active flare-up of acne, and also those for correcting the hormonal imbalance to keep the acne in check.
Excess facial hair can be dealt with by the dermatologist once the active lesions are under control.
You need to eat a healthy nutritious diet, multivitamins, and exercise regularly. All this goes a long way in keeping your skin healthy.
