What Causes Thick Vein Under Skin After Having Mammogram?
I had a mammogram done over a month ago. Results came back clear. But I ve noticed this thick vein under the skin that was never there before the screening. It s pretty unsightly. It s not protruding but just very close under the skin. Is it a busted vein? Could be caused by the pressure from the mammogram?
It's probably Mondor's disease in which the superficial veins just below the breast lower margin over the chest wall develop inflammation or thrombophlebitis. It is usually seen in ladies with large breast. Not to worry and it is a self limiting condition and if there is pain, you can talk pain killers for the same. It has nothing to do with mammogram.
