What Causes Thick White Vaginal Discharge Along With Bad Odour?

Hello, I have had an abortion before. However, I have not been able to get pregnant since then (not that I want to, just wandering why since sometimes I am careless). I have gone for a uterus scan and the doctor said my uterus was normal except for a simple cyst in my left ovary which is not a cause for worry. Recently, I have been having thick vaginal discharge that's milky color. Sometimes my vagina smells bad (don't know if its just in my head) and sometimes it smells like rotten egg, though not bad enough to smell out. I am worried about this and would like to know if anything is wrong?? Thank you.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain thick white vaginal discharge along with foul smell can be due to causes like Yeast infection or fungal infection of vagina also known as Vaginal Thrush..
Other common cause can be Bacterial infection causing Bacterial Vagonosis..
I would suggest you to consult a Gynaecologist and get evaluated and she can do a clinical examination and also advise you investigations like vaginal swab culture to rule out the exact cause of the problem and treat accordingly..
In case of fungal infection, topical application of antifungal ointment like Clotrimazole, antifungal pesseries and oral antifungal medications like Fluconazole that has to be taken weekly for atleast 3 weeks can be advised..
Taking ample of probiotics like Yoghurt and garlic can help..
In case of Bacterial infection, antibiotics can be advised..
Maintain a proper hygiene, wear cotton undergarments and loose fitting clothes..
