General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The root cause of nail problem is due to long term use of corticosteroids, immune response via chronic COPD and vitamin deficiency as vitamin E, C and zinc deficiencies.

Anti fungal will not help a great way for this case. Kindly discuss the issue with treating physician for best guidelines as online platform will not be able to solve the issue without possibly needed evaluation on clinical grounds.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
