Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Throat Ache And Cough After Treatment Of Severe Tonsillitis?
- Had mildly severe tonsillitis treated with antibiotics about 4 months ago - occasional, very small tonsil stones - Recovered from a mild cold (last few days) but pain in throat never subsided - occasional coughing up of phlegm - lymphnodes in neck are slightly swollen - left tonsil seems detached /torn and swallowing is quite painful
I understood your concern about the condition about your tonsils. As per the said symptoms , it might be the recurrence of tonsillitis. Since it recurred and cause you difficulty in swallowing,Tonsillectomy should be carried out. Tonsillectomy is the surgical procedure carried out to remove tonsil.
However direct clinical examination is required for a right diagnosis. Consult an E.N.T surgeon and get an opinion about the same and get appropriate diagnosis and treatment.
Wish you a good health Thank you
