Problem: Throat pain and congestion. After consulting the physician, I was told I had pharyngeal wall congestion due to post nasal drip. I had mondeslor and ivepred for 10 days as directed by the physician. For 10 days, there was no pain or congestion but now I am feeling the same again. what could be the reason for mild pain and congestion ? Any other test I should take ?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

If you feel pain in that area, it may be caused by the infection along with the production of post nasal drip.

The examination that I suggest is pharyngeal mucosa swab to do bacteria cultivated and make sure there is no malignancy. Then the doctor can give appropriate treatment. Consult further with your treating doctor. For temporarily, you can take Acetaminophen to relieve the pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nurul Falah
