What Causes Throat And Ear Infection After Exposure To Air Conditioner?

Hi! I went to karaoke (outdoors was humid and inside venue was air-conditioned ) and came home with strained vocal cords. The days following I couldn t swallow beverages or food. I saw my doc on tuesday and he gave me an antibiotic and the emergency room doc gave me an antiinflamatory steroid pill along with a nasal spray and magic mouthwash as my ears were muffling off and getting painful. Can this be an STD or a common cold brought on my going to an air-conditioned environment to humidity?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

STDs usually present with genital symptoms even if other symptoms are also present as well. Your symptoms are in keeping with the common cold or flu.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
