What Causes Throat Discomfort After Having Allegra-D?
Last night I took Allegra-D which I have taken for many years on and off. I am not allergic to it but it lodged in my throat and feels like it is still there. I have been diagnosed with a shrunk esophagus (forget the name) in the past but it has not been a problem for a while. I am thinking that my esophagus entry is inflamed which is causing the symptoms of not being able to drink, eat and my throat feeling swollen. Also mucus keeps coming up. I was going to go to the emergency room as I do not have a primary doctor yet due to insurance changes at work unless there is something over the counter that I can try to take maybe liquid form.

What Causes Throat Discomfort After Having Allegra-D?
Hi, The symptoms are more likely to suggest the possibility of severe acid reflux. As a first line management, you can take antacids like Pantoprazole or Omeprazole for symptomatic relief. If symptoms persist better to consult a gastroenterologist and get evaluated. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
