Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
6 DAYS AGO MY THROAT FELT LIKE SOMEONE WAS USING A BLOW DART TO SHOOT TINY SHARDS OF GLASS INTO IT. i VE SINCE LOST MY VOICE BUT I M COUGHING UP CLEAR HEAVY FLUID (LOTS OF IT) FOR 2 DAYS NOW. MY LUNGS BURN WHEN I BREATHE IN AND WHEN I EXHALE I MAKE A PURRING SOUND. FEELS LIKE AN ASTHMA ATTACK BUT MY INHALER DOESN T HELP
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. I think you are suffering from respiratory tract infection with pharyngitis and since you are also having problem breathing you may be having underlying pneumonia. Please let me know if you had fever or if your respiratory rate is increased.
Even if you are previously having asthma it can be complicated by infections as these people are more likely to get infected. I would recommend you a full course of antibiotics, if symptoms increase intravenous antibiotics like ceftriaxone may be needed. Take cough syrup for severe cough and analgesics for pain. Gargling with warm salt water will relieve your throat symptoms, drink plenty of fluids.
Hope this was helpful. Do let me know if you have more questions.
Regards, Dr. Akash Kumar
