What Causes Throat Ibfection With White Patchy Tongue?

hi,two months ago i had throat infection,my gp prescribe me amoxicilin 500mg,after that,i have white tongue,done test for candida and fungie but negative my whithnes doesent want comeoff,i have tryed nistatin,daktarin and some tablets but nothing,saw to many gps,they say nothing warry about,but i am so nervous and my tongue was nice and red,what i should do?!

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.

As per your complain and presentation of symptoms if you have got white patches over tongue after taking antibiotics the most probable cause is yeast infection known as ORAL THRUSH and there can be a possibility that the diagnosis is missed out.

Although a few other causes can cause white patches over tonge but are very less common and it can be due to acid reflux, nutritional deficiency, Leukoplakia etc.

You should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a proper diagnosis and microscopic examination of the scraping from the lesion can help in confirming the cause and an oral physician is a best doctor to help you out in confirming the cause and providing a suitable treatment..
