What Causes Throat Irritation On Left Side Post Tonsillectomy For Tonsil Stones?

I had a tonsillectomy over 2 months ago due to tonsil stones. I still have the same annoying feeling in the left side of my throat which I thought bfore my tonsillectomy was tonsil stones causing the irritation! This is the same place the ENT would remove my tonsil stones from for over 2 years. Could it be scar tissue?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

- Its possible that there is some suture material that is irritating your throat in that area
- I would suggest you go to your ENT, so he/she can examine the operation site to remove any left over suture material
- Removal should help with this irritation

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan, General & Family Physician
