Hi Dear,

Welcome to Health Care Magic Team.

Understanding your concern.

Irritation which you talking about on inner side of throat and swelling beneath the tongue could be possibly because of painful inflammation of throat at back/inner end side and known as pharyngitis.

Swelling beneath your tongue which you feeling is because of inflamed tonsils along with sore throat. Tonsillitis is commonest occurrence along with pharyngitis/ strep throat. Need not to worry about it.

I would suggest you to gargles with betadine/saline rinses at least 3 times a day. Have rest properly and drink lot of water. Use antibiotics such as Azithromycin to prevent from infection. Use drugs such as Ibuprofen to prevent from throat pain.

It could be possible you will get fever along with your symptoms then you should use antipyretic medications such as paracetamol combination. Your symptoms will relieve in 3-4 days.
If it keeps on persisting and worsening then consult physician for this.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get well soon.
Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
