Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
A sore throat for a few weeks now. Hurts mostly when swallowing. It has switched from left side to right side a few times now. Guessing just some sort of tonsillitis or bacterial infection? Any thoughts. Kind of was alarmed when it lasted so long but figured it wasn t too serious since it was switching sides. Thanks for any help.
Throat infections are one of the most common causes of pain when swallowing. These include strep throat, which is an infection with Streptococcal bacteria. I suggest to make gargle with salt water. If you don't feel better consult with ENT.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Blerina Pasho, General & Family Physician
