Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Throat Pain With History Of Having Sore Throat?
I have had a sore throat for about two weeks. No difficulty swallowing. No temperature. The hurt in my throat is more up than down. I seem to have a corresponding hurt on the top of my head as well. I have an appointment to see the Doctor on Monday morning. I feel good. I go for walks. I eat normally.
Thanks for your query . Sore throat can occur both due to bacteria and virus infection , but there can be other reasons also which are not associated with any infection like gastroesophgeal reflux disease or allergy.
I would suggest you to attend your visit with doctor for which your already took appointment . Doctor may order blood test or throat swab test to find out the exact cause so that the condition can be treated properly. Doctor may prescribe you antibiotics or anti viral drug depending upon your condition .
For now do betadine gargles and warm saline gargles and take benadrly.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
