What Causes Throat Pain With Red Spots Inside The Throat Of A Child?

Doctor, My 5 year old child (boy) is feeling pain inside his throat when he swells or eat something. I see some faint red coloured spots inside his throat. He is also suffering from fever (101-102 F) for last 2days. One Doctor suggests 2.5ml Augmentin DDS twice a day, while another suggests Cetil dry syrup 7.5 ml twice per day. Plz suggest me.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that your son is suffering from Pharyngitis that is infection in throat and it is only the cause for red spots in throat and pain..
The medication advised to him are both apt as both contains antibiotics that will help in fighting bacteria..
Along with it take anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen..
You can gargle with warm saline solution..
You can chew a Vitamin C pellet daily..
You can avoid spicy and hard foods and take a soft bland diet with plenty of fluids..
Also use a cool mist humidifier in his room..
Give him more of warm fluids..
