I have been having throat pain. About 3 days ago the upper right side of my throat started hurting. It hurts when I yawn, swollow, and esp when I sneeze. It almost feels somewhat like a scab in the back of my throat. The left side doesn't hurt and it doesn't feel like a sore throat from a cold.
Hi, the unilateral throat pain can be because of infection in the unilateral tonsil or post nasal drip on that side. Please get an ENT examination done which will rule out the infection of the tonsillar region (congestion) and if the doctor will think your history suggestive, can ask for an Xray para nasal sinuses. Meanwhile, please take a course of antibiotics like amoxicillin along with analgesics and antiseptic gargles. Regards
